Welcome to Danjugan Island — a sanctuary where nature becomes both classroom and teacher. Since 1991, our Marine & Wildlife Camps have invited participants to live among lush forests, vibrant lagoons, and thriving coral reefs. Guided by scientists and conservation advocates, every encounter becomes a lesson in ecology, sustainability, and the beauty of biodiversity. No wonder Danjugan has earned the name, “Nature’s Perfect Classroom.”
At Danjugan, we believe the best way to understand nature is to live in it. That’s why we prioritize experiential learning — a hands-on, immersive approach where participants don’t just learn about the environment, they engage with it directly.
Each camp begins with guided discussions to introduce campers to Danjugan’s unique ecosystems, wildlife, and safety practices. Led by scientists and conservationists, these sessions spark curiosity and prepare campers to explore with care and understanding.
From snorkeling over coral reefs to kayaking through mangroves, campers learn about marine life and habitats by experiencing them up close. Gear is provided, but bringing personal equipment is encouraged for comfort and confidence. Safety and respect for wildlife are always key.
Daily hikes lead to turtle nesting beaches, lagoons, eagle nests, bat caves, and forest trails where campers birdwatch, observe, and connect with the island’s rich biodiversity. Nights bring stargazing, fireflies, and the magic of nature after dark—plus games and challenges that make learning active and fun.
For over 30 years, our flagship Marine and Wildlife Camp has inspired young minds through immersive, hands-on learning. Originally designed for youth aged 12–17 and now expanded to include adults aged 18 onwards, these camps offer the rare opportunity to live in a marine reserve alongside conservation professionals. Each day includes snorkeling, trekking, kayaking, and wildlife observation, guided by experts who model the kind of curiosity and care we hope to inspire. Many camp alumni have gone on to study environmental science or pursue careers in conservation — a testament to the power of experiential education.

Our Family Camps bring generations together for shared experiences in nature. These camps are perfect for families looking to disconnect from screens and reconnect with the natural world. Each activity — from snorkeling with reef fish to cleaning up beaches — is designed to be educational, meaningful, and age-inclusive. Families leave camp not just with photos, but with stronger bonds and shared values of environmental stewardship.
We welcome families and groups to design their own experience—email us at deep@danjuganisland.ph to co-create a custom camp tailored to your needs.
Danjugan’s Marine & Wildlife Camps have welcomed participants from the US, UK, Japan, Australia, and beyond — creating a growing global community of conservation advocates. These camps provide a unique lens into Philippine ecosystems, combining cross-cultural exchange with science-based learning. Campers explore environmental issues in the context of the Philippines, gaining both ecological understanding and cultural insight. From coral reef dynamics to indigenous conservation perspectives, our international camps are ideal for those seeking deeper immersion and global awareness.

As Baba Dioum once said: “In the end, we will conserve only what we love, we will love only what we understand, and we will understand only what we are taught.” Let Danjugan be your teacher.
